Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

can-all-your-worriesCan all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Matthew 6:27

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a worrier. I constantly find myself drifting away from reality pondering over all of the what ifs in my head. All of the bad things that could happen. All of the things that could go wrong. I often find my mood entirely ruined over possibilities. Negative possibilities. Most of the times these possibilities are merely based off of fiction. Although no fact to them, I still waste countless hours, days, and sometimes even weeks worrying about the thought of these possibilities coming true. I often have to sit back and ask myself, can all these worries add a single moment to my life?

Have you ever been sick? Your head starts to slightly hurt and instead of going to your doctor you check the internet. You google the symptoms and the internet tells you that you have brain cancer and you have roughly 20 days to live. I know this feeling all too well. Whether it’s a cough, a joint ache, or ear pain, I rush to read to the symptoms. In my 6 years of googling symptoms, every time I have received the same diagnosis, death.  I start to cry and worry. Worrying about the possibilities of the self diagnosis. Worried about how soon my life is going to change. Then suddenly I stop and think, why am I worrying myself over fiction? And no matter the situation, why am I worrying when I’m a child of God!

Whenever I worry I remind myself to pray. Give all my worries, give all my fears, give all of my troubles to God! Don’t stress your body and worry when you can find peace in the Lord. Matthew 11:28 says, Then Jesus said, ” Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest “. Life is so short and precious. Take life one day at a time and remind yourself how blessed you are. We will all have storms. We will all have tribulations. Remind yourself, that the good days, will outweigh the bad days, and thank the Lord for all he has done.

” So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” Matthew 6:34
